How to scrape Instagram emails and review the CSV
Scraping Instagram emails means collecting addresses that are exposed in the available public source. It does not mean revealing an account's private login email. The useful starting question is which profiles are relevant and whether those profiles publish a contact address at all.
This guide explains how to define a source, configure a reviewable collection task, and inspect the CSV. It documents the Octrieve workflow as reviewed on 26 October 2026. Examples are illustrative, and no live yield or competitor test is claimed.
1. Define the profiles you actually need
For creator partnerships, write down the niche, the kind of collaboration, and the profiles you would be comfortable reviewing manually. For agency research, start with a known account list or a tightly scoped public topic. A broad hashtag can mix creators, customers, repost accounts, and spam; sharing a tag does not make every participant a suitable contact.
Keep three lists separate: candidate profiles, profiles with a published email, and contacts you have decided are appropriate to approach. Combining those stages hides why a large source audience can turn into a much smaller usable list.
2. Match the source to the input
| Your task | A useful starting input | What to validate |
|---|---|---|
| Review known creators | A custom list of account handles, when available on your plan | Handle spelling and whether the returned Profile URL is the intended person |
| Explore a topic | A relevant hashtag | Topic ambiguity and the relevance of each returned profile |
| Research an account or post audience | The account or public post required by the selected mode | Actual returned coverage; do not assume a complete follower or participant list |
Coverage depends on the source and the selected mode. A dashboard option describes the requested task; it is not evidence that every account, audience, or contact field is available. Check the first results before planning a large campaign.
3. Set up the task and preserve its context
- Open the Instagram dashboard and choose an available mode.
- Enter the required account, public post URL, hashtag, or account list.
- Set an email limit within the allowance displayed for your account. Available modes and editable limits depend on the plan.
- Use bio keyword filtering only where your plan permits it. Treat it as a text filter, not a verified category or location filter.
- Review the job status, the source of its records, and a few returned profile URLs. Keep the run date and input alongside the export.
4. Read an empty email correctly
The current full CSV includes Username, Name, Email, Bio, Location, Profile URL, Followers, Following, Tweets, Email source, and Validation. Some fields may be empty, and unsupported counts may be zero. This shared export structure does not mean every platform exposes every field.
An empty Email cell can mean that the available source did not expose an address. It should remain empty rather than being filled with a guessed firstname@company pattern. Likewise, a Location value is source text; it is not independent confirmation that a creator operates in that country.
The fictional CSV example contains a profile with no email so you can see that case. The sample is generated with the current exporter and uses reserved example.com addresses. It is not a screenshot or benchmark of an Instagram scrape.
5. Qualify the contacts before outreach
Review the public profile for fit, retain the source context, remove duplicates across exports, and apply any suppression or opt-out records you already hold. The export's format_only value means a syntax check; it does not prove mailbox existence, consent, or permission for a campaign.
If you need a comparison of collection approaches, use the Instagram email scraper comparison. If you are ready to evaluate the workflow, start with the Instagram scraper overview and review the current account allowances. Measure the number of relevant contacts you retain, not just the size of the initial audience.
Frequently asked questions
Can this reveal a private Instagram login email?
No. This workflow concerns contact information exposed in available sources. It does not reveal private login addresses or supply missing emails by guessing.
Should I begin with a hashtag or an account list?
A known account list is easier to audit when you already have relevant profiles. A hashtag can help explore a topic, but you need to review relevance and actual source coverage.
Does the shared CSV promise every field for Instagram?
No. The export has a shared set of columns across platforms. Some text fields can be empty, and unsupported counts can be zero.
Are exported emails ready to send to?
The format_only label does not prove deliverability or consent. Review the source, contact relevance, suppression records, and the requirements for the intended campaign.
Was the example collected from real Instagram profiles?
No. The downloadable file uses fictional records and reserved example.com addresses. It documents the exporter and is not a live results benchmark.
Evaluate a source before scaling it
Review the product scope and account allowance, then start with a source set you can inspect.
